Casing Repair and Cleanouts

Keeping the wellbore open and the casing sound

By Robert Adam Clifford, Lost Cabin Consulting LLC ยท Updated October 15, 2026

Wells fill up with sand, scale and debris, and casing develops leaks. Cleanouts restore the wellbore so it can produce or be worked on; casing repair stops fluid going where it shouldn't.

Cleanouts

Cleanouts on coiled tubing, snubbing units and rigs, with and without nitrogen, in vertical and horizontal wells. Adam wrote the book on it: Tag Bottom: The Complete Manual of Wellbore Cleanouts, 86 chapters with 114 worked equations.

Casing repair

Cased-hole fishing and completions, scab liners, leak isolation, and squeeze jobs by bradenhead, balanced plug or retainer, with cement or resin.

Experience

More than 24 years in the field, with thousands of wells and jobs completed without an accident or release. Based in Powell, Wyoming, and available for travel and long-term assignments.
