Diamond Queen
A technical and mathematical review of IGT's Diamond Queen — the locked-wild-reels video slot from the 2007 AVP game to its Québec video lottery and 2012 online builds, and the two later marks that carry its name — with the land rules from the test laboratory's 2009 letter to the Kansas commission, a guaranteed bonus floor of 25 times the bet, the ceiling of a spin, the returns in circulation, and a game that stores nothing between plays.
Executive summary
Diamond Queen is a single IGT video slot, and its record runs nearly nineteen years. IGT filed the DIAMOND QUEEN mark on January 11, 2006, swore to the USPTO that it was first used on December 17, 2007 and in commerce on January 3, 2008, registered it on August 19, 2008 and renewed it, with a status date of March 15, 2018. An AVP game package with the version date code "04/01/08," software Family 014, was tested by GLI, described in GLI's letter of November 17, 2009 and approved on the Kansas commission's agenda of December 4, 2009. No IGT release, annual report or trade item of 2006 to 2012 read for this volume names the game, so this volume claims no launch show and no launch casino; from the sworn first use to the day this volume was finished is 6,878 days, 18.8 years (this volume's arithmetic).
The land rules come from the test laboratory, not from a help screen. GLI's description reads "'Diamond Queen' is a 5-reel 20-line video reel game that offers scatter pays and a bonus feature."; the Queen appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 and substitutes for everything "except the 'Mystical Diamond Bonus' symbol."; two of those symbols in any position pay "the advertised scatter pay," and "Scatter wins are multiplied by the total number of credits bet.". Three in any position start three free spins, and "The free spins are played at the same line bet and number of lines as the initiating game." No help screen of any build was filmed for this volume; GLI's description, filed with a regulator, is the best-graded statement of the land game on the record (Appendix A).
The bonus locks three reels wild one at a time, and an extra spin repeats a stage. "On the first free spin, the 'Queen' symbol locks reel 2 and makes the entire reel wild for all symbols"; reel 3 locks next and reel 4 last, each only "after any additional free spins have been played," so a spin won by an Extra Spin symbol on reel 1 is played with the reels already wild, before the next reel locks (this volume's reading; Figure 2, §4.5–4.6). "The 'Extra Spin' symbol does not award additional free spins after 20 free spins have been played.", and the bonus ends after 23 free spins at most; GLI describes no retrigger and no multiplier. The online descriptions, all Tier 3 or 4, agree on the sequence and split on the timing — "an extra free spin is played at the current wild reel state." against an extra spin added "at the end of your free spins" — and on the Queen's reels.
Three free spins guarantee 25 times the bet on the pay table in circulation. With reels 2 and 3 wild, every line pays at least a three of a kind of its reel-1 symbol, the smallest paying 5 credits for each credit bet on the line; with reels 2 to 4 wild, at least a four of a kind, the smallest 20. With all 20 lines played and no Extra Spin symbol on reel 1, the second free spin pays at least 100 line credits (5× the total bet) and the third at least 400 (20×): 25× the bet across the three spins, 27× if three bonus symbols also pay the 2× scatter, which is not established (this volume's arithmetic on the online pay table, Tier 4, carried to the land game by analogy; §5.4, Appendix B.2). A player's 2013 description, "A guaranteed bonus winner every time with 3 wild reels.", fits the arithmetic. One spin's line pays top out at 20 lines of five logos, 1,000× the total bet — $200,000 at the online maximum of $200 a spin — and the $250,000 printed on several affiliate pages does not derive from that bet range.
A return is published only for the online build, and only by affiliates and a database. Affiliates since 2013 print a range: "it has a 92.97% up to 96.08% payout ratio!" in BankrollMob's words; SlotCatalog prints ".89%"; and Casinoz credits its own "93% to 96%" range to the maker, "according to the official information provided by the producer.". This volume reads the three figures as three settings of the online build, by inference: holds of 7.03%, 5.11% and 3.92% (this volume's arithmetic). No source gives a land return; Québec's regulation sets the floor for its video lottery games — "le taux de retour ne doit pas être inférieur à 83%." — and Loto-Québec's 92% is a network figure, not the game's.
The game has run in three channels, and three more were searched without result. On land it ran as an AVP game, sold refurbished as "a popular title of G23"; in high-limit rooms, where one channel films spins of $500 to $2,500; and on multi-game machines — "Diamond Queen in high limit at Bellagio. On a multi game machine.". In Québec it was a "5¢ — 20 paylines" video lottery game, and "By spring 2026, this game will no longer be available at video lottery locations in Québec.". Online it was released in 2012 — July 10 by Gambling.com's pages, May 10 by SlotCatalog's — and no social, Class II or US lottery build was found.
The name lives on in two later marks, and no game is shown under either. IGT registered DAZZLING DIAMOND QUEEN (Reg. No. 4614788), filed on July 3, 2013, with use sworn from June 30, 2014, and renewed it with a status date of July 31, 2025; no game of that name was found. IGT filed DIAMOND QUEEN SUPREME (Serial No. 98575708) on May 30, 2024; it was allowed on March 4, 2025, and on August 17, 2026 "A third request for extension of time to file a Statement of Use has been granted.": the mark is not yet sworn into use. IGT's Queen slot of G2E 2026 is a licensed game about the rock band and no part of this family.
The game is still on casino floors in 2026. Barona's winners page lists eleven jackpots on a " cent Diamond Queen" from June 17 to September 9, 2026, from $13,900 to $64,000, five of them on July 11 to 13.33 At 100 credits, the largest land bet on the record in credits, a 50¢ machine takes $50, so the eleven are 278× to 1,280× the bet, and four exceed the $50,000 that one spin's line pays can reach at that bet; the page gives no bet, and whether these are long bonuses or larger bets is an open question (this volume's arithmetic; §7.5, Appendix B.7). In Québec the game left the video lottery network with other older IGT titles, under the same notice Loto-Québec prints for Kitty Glitter.
Nothing is stored between plays. GLI's description runs from the base game to the end of the bonus and names no counter, meter or value that outlasts the bonus; the locked reels and the extra-spin count end with the free spins, and two Mystical Diamond Bonus symbols are a near miss that pays (Appendix C). On the series' classes the locking reels and the extra-spin count are state within the feature and the game has no true persistent state, against IGT's own counterexamples in Volume III and Volume XX.36,37 SIS 26-DQ · Diamond Queen LARGEST OF BARONA'S ELEVEN 2026 JACKPOTS, 50¢ MACHINE ONLINE RETURN RANGE IN CIRCULATION; NO LAND RETURN PUBLISHED
What the volume covers
Section 1 is the orientation: the builds, the companies, regulators and sources behind them, and a timeline. Here a build is one configuration of the game on the record; a line credit is one credit bet on one line; the total bet is the line bet times the lines played; and a value written as a multiple, such as 25×, is a win divided by the total bet; the 25× floor and the 1,000× ceiling hold for any number of lines played, since each played line pays at least 5 and then 20 line bets on the second and third free spins and at most 1,000 on any spin. GLI's 2009 description is the land rules; every online rule is Tier 3 or Tier 4, and the text says which. The pay table is the online build's, transcribed alike by three affiliates, and is carried to the land game only by analogy. Section 2 is the dated record from the 2006 filing to the 2026 trademark file; Section 3 the platforms; Section 4 every rule on the record, by source and tier; Section 5 the mathematics — what is published, the pay table, the bets, the bonus floor, the ceiling of a spin, the return, and a register of bad figures; Section 6 the builds. Sections 7 to 10 cover the awards, the bets, the market and the law. Appendix A grades the sources, Appendix B shows every calculation, and Appendix C classifies every display that looks like progress.
