Wolf Peak
A technical and mathematical review of King Show Games' Delayed Expanding Wilds family — a Minnesota studio's design sold on land by IGT and online by Bragg, one paytable behind five online returns from 88% to 96.01%, jackpots fixed at 12.5 to 1,250 times the bet, the Cat Peak and Fu Ren Wu clones, and locked wilds that the rules carry into the next three games at the same bet while the seller's catalog calls them perceived persistence.
Executive summary
Wolf Peak is King Show Games' design, sold on land by IGT and online by Bragg. The online rules end "Wolf Peak was created by King Show Games, Inc.," and the Minnesota studio owns both WOLF PEAK registrations — for machines, claiming first use on November 4, 2019, and for software, November 17, 2020 — and the DELAYED EXPANDING WILDS mark that names its feature, registered in March 2020 after Bally Gaming's opposition to it was dismissed with prejudice. IGT lists the land game as an Ascent "5-Reel 40-Line Configurable Max Bet" video reel and named it a "proven core title" at the tribal-gaming show in July 2021; Bragg distributes the online build, dated November 14, 2023. Every other credit in circulation — "by IGT," "Produced by Bragg Gaming," "Oryx Gaming," a "NYX" launch parameter, a "spin" help-page slug — is a layer of that chain.
One engine carries three names. Cat Peak, which IGT lists as a "Follow Up to Wolf Peak™," and Fu Ren Wu, "A clone of the hit game Wolf Peak® Video Slots," print the same pays, the same free spins and the same five jackpots, and online all three open at the same five returns; Cat Peak's bet ladder alone runs on past $24, to $96.14,17,18,19,20 Two more marks extend the name — WOLF PEAK 3 FORTUNES, allowed in July 2026, and WOLF PEAK TRIPLE FORTUNE, filed in June — and Bragg's roadmap lists a Wolf Peak Hot Roll Jackpots; none has published math.
The paytable is public and the return is not in it. At the $0.80 minimum — 80 credits at a penny — five gray wolves pay 400 credits, five times the bet; five wilds 1,000; five scatters 2,000; and the jackpots 1,000 to 100,000 credits, 12.5 to 1,250 times the bet, the same multiples at each of the eleven bet options to $24.2 The online build exists at 88%, 92.01%, 94%, 95% and 96.01% on an identical paytable, so the 8.01-point spread lives entirely in reels that no one publishes: the pays cannot tell the builds apart, only the last line of the help screen can.
On land the multipliers and jackpots are sold as a bonus bet. IGT's page says so twice: "If the bonus bet is placed, players may receive multipliers that can combine to award up to 27X the original bet," and "A five-level progressive is available in the base game when the bonus bet is placed." The online build folds that purchase into its 80-credit price and pays fixed jackpots instead of meters. Multiplier wilds sit only on reels 2, 3 and 4, so a line's multiplier is one of ten values from 1 to 27; five wilds at 27× pay 27,000 credits, 337.5 times the bet, and the rules permit 13,500 times the bet across all 40 lines — against a database ",666x" that no rule produces and U.K. site caps of £250,000 and £215,113.10,24,25 The Delayed Expanding Wild is state the rules carry forward, and store by bet. A gold, 2x or 3x wild "locks over that symbol position for that base game and the next 3 base games played at the same bet option," and each of those games turns one more position on its reel wild: one, two, three, then all four rows, then gone. This volume watched the online build keep a separate state for each bet — a locked 3x wild at $0.80 vanished at $1.60 and returned at $0.80 — against a review's rule that a bet change "will immediately end the round" (E5). A player who walks up to a reel showing one locked wild inherits three games and nine wild positions at that bet (Table C.2).
Whether that state is worth anything is where the record splits. IGT calls Wolf Peak's feature "a persistence element" and its clone's "perceived persistence" — the trade's term for indicators with "no change in Return to Player (RTP) from spin to spin"; practitioners sell the entry points of "+EV" states, and one reviewer "ran the numbers." The rules carry the wilds over and say nothing of the reels compensating, and no par sheet, reel strip or trigger rate is public, so the state is bounded but cannot be priced. No Atlantic City list of large jackpots from 2019 to 2026 names any title of the family; online, Wolf Peak's largest fixed jackpot, $30,000, sits below the lists' threshold.

What the volume covers
Section 1 is the orientation: one studio, two distributors, three names on one engine, and where each is documented. In this volume Wolf Peak, alone, is the game King Show Games designed, in its land and online builds; the family is Wolf Peak with Cat Peak and Fu Ren Wu; a DEW is a Delayed Expanding Wild, the locked gold, 2x or 3x wild and the feature it starts; a bet option is one step of the wager ladder; and credits are counted at a penny, 80 to the minimum bet. Sections 2 and 3 cover the studio, IGT and Bragg, the dated record, the trademarks and patents, and the cabinets. Section 4 is the mechanical core — the grid, the bet, the DEW rules, the multiplier wilds, the free spins and the jackpot sub-symbols. Section 5 is the mathematics: the paytable in three units, the five returns, the jackpot ladder, the line ceiling and a register of the bad figures. Section 6 is the census. Sections 7 through 10 cover jackpots, bets, the market and the channels. Appendix A grades the sources, Appendix B shows every calculation, and Appendix C answers the persistent-state question.
