Player acts first and only looks at its own two-card total. If either side shows 8 or 9 (a natural), both hands stand and the tableau never runs.

Edges are measured against total amount wagered. Push results (Banker on a 3-card 7 under EZ, and Player/Banker on a tie) return the stake and count as resolved but non-losing.
